Our longlines, leashes, and collars are made with USA Biothane, a strong, durable, flexible, no rot or stink, easy-to-clean, leather-like material, availble in many colors and widths of the strap.
MillsPoint Goods longlines and leashes are not chew-proof and should never be used as a tie-down or tie-out. The Humane Society resource page notes that tethering or chaining a dog outside is not a good practice. In some states it is illegal. If you need help keeping a canine safe when alone, or learning to settle when you are together, please consult a local positive reinforment trainer. You will both have fun and improve your life together.
Collars:
All collars attach with a metal buckle, either Adjustable or Simple-with 5 holes. Both have an O ring to attach tags, and leash or longline. Adjustable collars use a tri-glide slide to increase or decrease collar size. The Simple-Five-Hole collar has 5 holes to adjust size. Generally, extra-small and small collars are made using 1/2 or 5/8 inch wide straps (as pictured below in bright pink and violet. Small to extra-large collars use 3/4 inch strap.

Longlines
As a training tool for canines & humans, longlines are valuable. A longline is a leash, just longer! Standard lengths are 10, 15, or 20 feet. Custom lengths are available, please ask!
Off-leash time can be lovely for dogs. Sadly, not everyone has access to a safe, off-leash space. A field study titled “The Heart of the Walk” compared dog pulse rates on-leash, two lengths, and off-leash. The study documents benefits a longline walk. Whether you call it a “Sniffari”, decompression walk, Ladeeda walk, or a “Ramble”, walks on a longline are fun. A longline connection means no worries about a pup getting lost, or engaging with something best left behind (porcupine comes to mind).
Whether practicing responses to cues from a distance or recalls, or allowing for sniffing and limited roaming, longlines can work for humans and canines.
