Tools for positive training and growing relationships

Welcome to MillsPoint Goods.

Hobbs knows cross-species communication can be baffling.

We live in Brooksville, Maine raising service dog puppies for Blue Path Service Dogs (check them out at www.bluepathservicedogs.org). We have big gardens, 6 chickens, 2 cats, a service dog puppy in training, 8 grandchildren, and a life full of blessings.

When we started raising puppies for service in 2000, verbal praise was our primary positive reinforcer. Choke/chain collars were common. The science of dog training has changed a lot since then. Chain collars are gone. We use treats and repeat postive experiences to work with our pups here there and everywhere. Longlines give our puppies, and us, room to explore and practice skills and recalls safely. We feel happy to be both learners and teachers in relation our pups. We enjoy thinking through how to communicate and how to listen to our dogs to reach everyone’s best life.

Carrying toys, treats, chews, phone, keys, sunglasses, and maybe an extra leash can be a challenge. In 2019, Kathleen began fabricating treat vests, aprons, and bags from 100% linen with pockets galore.
